Hands down the best restaurant in Marshall Texas. The service from the front staff to the owner was top notch and the food was very well prepared including the steak, the pasta jambalaya and even the bread basket they first bring out as well as the desserts, especially the white cake. Don’t forget to get a cocktail, the cucumber smash and mint julep were our personal favorites. Beyond the amazing historical value of this place, it’s one that I’ll visit each time I return to this town. Thank you for the amazing hospitality.
Stopped here on way from Louisiana back into Texas for work. Super charming historical restaurant across the tracks from the train depot. The look and feel says upscale dining; the food was less so. The fettuccine went well with the shrimp I ordered but was very basic. I was expecting something truly unique and savory but didn’t get it. Next time I will try the piccata. It was my first choice but the waitress recommended other items. The service was respectable, as was the atmosphere, which is why I’m giving it 5 stars. I would give this place another try, though. I enjoyed my time!
My husband and I tried this place for the first time last night, and it was phenomenal. We were definitely underdressed; this place is pretty fancy, but our server stated that the atmosphere is a little more relaxed if you eat in the bar area (we will definitely do this next time). Everything we ate was a 10/10. We look forward to going back and trying more of their dishes. Highly recommend eating here if you’re not on a budget.
I really enjoyed my experience. I had the venison appetizer and the 10oz filet entre. Both were perfectly cooked to my order. I will definitely return on my next trip to Dallas. I sat at the bar as I was dining solo. Jessica, the bartender was great. Luckily for me it was a slow night and we had a great conversation.
This is a fantastic place to visit and the atmosphere is first rate! Loved the food, the impeccable service and the wonderful feel of a great bar and restaurant. The bartenders were superb as were the drinks! I highly recommend The Ginocchio!! If you are passing by Marshall TX, make it a point to stop and tell Alan (The AMAZING Proprietor) that Chuck Ebert (Where is Chuck TODAY?) sent you! You won’t be disappointed!
This is a gem of a restaurant. Located in an old building next to the Amtrak station. The food was amazing. Both the steak (Australian) and halibut were first rate. Price ended up about $130 per person.
My husband and I went here for the first time tonight for a date night. We drove an hour and a half to try it and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere, wine, and food were all just perfect! Our server, Liz, was very attentive. We are already making plans to revisit this beautifully restored restaurant.
Wonderful renovated building with a great restaurant. Steak 🥩 was delicious and perfectly served with awesome sauces and one of the best fries we've ever had...!!! The service was perfect and very friendly taking care of the guests. Great recommendation!
Our first time visiting this little gem in Marshall, TX and it did not disappoint. Liz was a server and she provides the best service that anyone can ask for and that was with her helping with a very large group as well from what I observed. For appetizers, we had the fried artichokes, jumbo lump crab cake, and the oysters reynaldo. For the main course, we had the 18oz cowboy ribeye and the halibut blackened and for dessert, the homemade ice cream, creme brulee, and the black forest cake. All the dishes were amazing! The atmosphere is wonderful and clean and make sure to check out their bar. If you go, ask for Liz.
We love traveling through Marshall, Texas during the holidays, when the downtown area transforms into a Christmas village complete with ice skating, Santa’s workshop activities for kids, hot cocoa stands, and more. The perfect way to cap off that experience is a family dinner at The Ginocchio. Not only is The Ginocchio a registered historic place tied to the old train station (which is a treat for history fans and kids alike) it also delivers a truly high-end dining experience. The service is exceptional, the menu is excellent, and everything we’ve ordered has been exquisite. My go-to is the ribeye steak paired with an Old Fashioned, which has never disappointed. My wife has a gluten allergy, and the staff is always knowledgeable and helpful when guiding her through the menu. The kitchen clearly takes great care with preparation, which makes dining here comfortable and worry-free for her. Whether you’re visiting Marshall during the holidays or stopping through at any time of year, The Ginocchio is absolutely worth putting at the top of your list.
